In the latest partnership to blend consulting expertise with software prowess, pricing management technology specialist PROS has announced that it will team up with global consultant Deloitte to provide manufacturers and other customers bundled support for determining the most profitable prices for their products.
The non-exclusive relationship will see Deloitte’s business and pricing expertise “bundled with PROS’ market-leading pricing software to provide a holistic approach to achieving and sustaining pricing excellence,” the two companies said in their statement. Officials were not available today to provide specific details on the go-to-market strategy.
In the statement, PROS Executive Vice President Andres Reiner called the alliance “a great opportunity for us to expand our relationship with this industry leader to help companies increase margins and market share by optimizing pricing practices.”
Michael Simonetto, founder and global lead of Deloitte’s Pricing and Profitability Management practice, echoed that sentiment, saying, “PROS has all of the capabilities needed to address our clients’ pricing challenges, from transactional analysis through econometric modeling, but especially in the area of advanced pricing science.”
In related news, PROS announced its first-quarter results earlier this week, revealing a nearly 4% year-over-year fall in revenue, to $17.3 million. License and implementation sales drove the decline, falling 13% against the prior-year quarter to $10.4 million. PROS’ maintenance and support revenue helped stem the bleeding, rising 14% to just less than $7 million.
