Houston, Texas – February 16, 2004—PROS Revenue Management, a world leader in pricing and revenue optimization science and software, and the pioneer and dominant provider of revenue optimization to the travel and transportation industry, today announced the success of its Amber Project with Swiss International Airlines.
The PROS implementation completed at Swiss in November 2003 provides the airline with five distinct modules that integrate into a seamless state-of-the-art O&D Revenue Management System.
This system provides the backbone for integration of the various functions within the network planning organization. One of the key components of the system, the Real-time Dynamic Pricing (RTDP) engine helps Swiss leverage the current trends and challenges in distribution and pricing. The RTDP provides the infrastructure for the new “Swiss in Europe” strategy.

The PROS O&D Revenue Management System is a true PNR-based O&D solution currently in production at four of the world’s largest international transport companies. The system employs sophisticated industry-leading Bayesian forecasting techniques, dynamic programming optimization, an XML web-based thin-customer platform, and seamless integration with network planning, pricing, and scheduling systems. This system employs advanced high-performance and highly scalable n-tier architecture to support the scale and volume of the world’s largest airlines.
The use of PROS O&D Real-Time Dynamic Pricing Engine positions airlines to adapt their inventory controls to the very dynamic market conditions including influx of low-fare competition, alternate pricing models and distribution channel differences. It allows for integrated controls for selling over e-commerce channels alongside the traditional distribution channels and provides the infrastructure for customer-centric revenue optimization. PROS’ customers estimate annual incremental revenue increase of at least 2% to 3% above leg-based and non-PNR-based O&D solutions.
