As announced at the 2005 PROS Annual Conference, the P5 Low Fare System features new science-based functionality. The Low Fare system implements this enhancement effectively to manage revenue in a restriction free fare environment. In these new business conditions, fare classes can no longer be handled as separate and independent products, as assumed by traditional revenue management models. The science underlying the implemented functionality in the P5 Low Fare System accounts for this changing business environment and customer behavior. Fare fences are being removed, fare class structures simplified, and fare differentials between fare classes reduced.

The Low Fare functionality in P5 Low Fare is instrumental to achieving increased revenue goals. The features implemented in P5 Low Fare:

• Address the problem of revenue dilution by accounting for the customer behavior of passengers who can buy products below their maximum willingness to pay
  
• Increase user productivity by providing a simple yet effective tool to affect optimization, rather than forcing them to use a complex combination of influences to attain similar results
